The Moth TA2 tonearm uses a custom one piece aluminium arm tube, carefully manufactured to optimise performance and reduce stress on the precision bearings. Each tonearm is meticulously hand assembled using custom tools and precision torque settings to guarantee optimum performance. This level of care ensures perfect tracking and maximises the amount of information that the cartridge can extract from the record groove.

Based on VPI's known design of the Avenger Tripod Chassis, the Avenger Direct takes their Direct Drive technology and marries it with the Avenger Series. The Avenger design has always been known as a "sandbox" type of design giving the owner the ability to mount up to 3 arms at any length or manufacturer model. In addition the Avenger Direct uses Isolation from the Titan turntable with Pneumatic Air Suspension feet.

A crucial change sees one of the original 3.5 mm outputs replaced by a 4.4 mm Pentaconn socket. This key improvement greatly expands compatibility with a wider range of high-performance headphones, while still retaining a convenient 3.5 mm connection for standard use. For added convenience, both the 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm outputs now feature independent volume memory. This allows users to precisely set and recall optimal output levels for different pairs of headphones.

Responding directly to customer feedback, Chord Electronics has further upgraded the device with switchable USB-C charging. This simplifies the charging operation, as the existing USB-C input is now enabled for both data and charging.
