Experience the pure and natural sound that comes as close to the original sound as possible with the RA280 - an integrated amplifier that incorporates innovative technologies used in RA180. With excellent linearity achieved through strong power damping and short dead time, the RA280 delivers a near-perfect sound that transcends the boundaries between digital and analog technologies. It offers a unique listening experience that lets you feel the true essence of music.

Class AD Amplifier with Next-Generation GaN FET

The HiFi Rose RA280 features a Class AD amplifier technology that uses GaN (gallium nitride) FET to produce high-quality sound that goes beyond the limitations of regular class D amplifiers. This technology provides the same efficiency and power as class D amplifiers, while also reducing power consumption and delivering detailed sound quality through high-power amplification. The GaN FET ensures linear output, which results in a smooth and natural sound quality that's similar to an analog amplifier.

High-Efficiency Power Supply

The power supply circuit of RA280 has been developed by HiFi Rose using silicon carbide FET instead of conventional silicon FET. This innovative design provides both efficiency and stability, allowing RA280 to maintain stable high output while minimizing heat generation. The silicon carbide FET features higher power efficiency and lower heat generation, resulting in the best sound quality. Additionally, the RA280 is equipped with a 2.5kW PFC circuit and a super capacitor, ensuring excellent performance even under load and providing stability and reliability.

Phono Amplifier that Supports Moving Magnet

The phono amp of RA280 supports moving magnet cartridge input with a simple switch selection. This amplifies very weak audio signals without any colouration, resulting in the best sound quality. With HiFi Rose's high-precision compensation circuit, it delivers audio signals close to the original sound and perfectly implements essential functions for high-quality music playback. Users can activate this feature by simply selecting a switch, allowing them to enjoy richer, more vivid sound.

Two Completely Separated Mono Amplifier Modules

The RA280 is equipped with two separate amplifier modules that function like a mono amplifier, supporting 250W (4Ω and 8Ω) for the left and right amplifiers respectively, resulting in a 500W output on a stereo channel. HiFi Rose has designed a two-stage analog filter technology to enhance the frequency response characteristics and reduce the noise caused by switching of class D amplifiers. This technology provides clean and articulate sound quality, allowing you to experience evolved sound with an analog feel. With this cutting-edge technology, RA280 delivers the best sound quality that will surely elevate your music listening experience.

Balance Control for Bass and Treble

By default, the output trend of RA280 is flat and comes equipped with a tone control function that allows for ±15dB adjustment of bass (100Hz) and treble (10kHz). Unlike passive (CR) tone control circuits, the tone control circuit of RA280 is equipped with a high-fidelity active EQ (OP-AMP: 12dB Slope) that features a gentle 6dB slope. This advanced circuitry ensures that the sound quality remains high fidelity even when tone adjustments are made. With this function, users can adjust the bass and treble to their liking, allowing them to enjoy their music with the desired sound signature.

EISA Integrated Amplifier 2024-2025

"Since its arrival on the hi-fi scene in 2017, HiFi Rose has seduced audiophiles with a range of products that combine high-quality engineering and performance with a unique sense of style. The RA280 analogue integrated amplifier is no exception, its elegant casework with tactile front-panel controls (and VU meters) concealing an innovative GaN FET-based Class D amp stage that comfortably outperforms its 2x250W specification. In use, via either its balanced line input or moving-magnet phono stage, the RA280 dazzles with detailed, airy stereo imaging and a dynamic, exciting sound that’ll have you cranking up its illuminated volume dial. HiFi Rose’s amplifier punches far above its price tag."

86/100 Hi-Fi News - "More sober than the ‘steampunk’ styled RA180, and more powerful too, the new RA280 takes HiFi Rose’s GaN FET-based Class D architecture into the audiophile zone"

"The RA280 is an affordable and more straightforward alternative to the eccentric RA180. It boasts greater power without sacrificing refinement which, like its exceptional build quality, sets a high bar at this price point. Balanced, detailed, and with pinsharp imaging – but with careful speaker pairing a priority – the RA280 is a great choice for music enthusiasts seeking a closer connection to their collection." 9/10 AV Forums - "HiFi Rose's wholly unique approach to audio is far more than bluster; it's really beginning to impress."

"I wasn’t completely sure what to expect when I unboxed the RA280. I imagined it would be a competent enough device but I genuinely wasn’t expecting what actually resulted. This is a device that charms and delights from the get go. Behind the unique but actually very usable design is a combination of enormous headroom and beguiling presentation that appealed from the outset and only became more engaging the more I used it. This is far more than a partner to the Rose streamers. For anyone with their digital sources sorted, this is a beautifully realised take on a three grand amplifier and one that comes Highly Recommended." Read Full Review
