Compact, Affordable, and High-End in Performance

When the original Audiolab M-DAC launched in 2011, it redefined what was possible in affordable audiophile-grade DACs. Its impact laid the groundwork for a decade of Audiolab innovation, with DAC technology embedded in multiple award-winning and benchmark-setting components—culminating in today’s revered 9000 series.

True to Audiolab’s legacy of making high-fidelity electronics accessible, the 6000 and 7000 series have consistently delivered exceptional performance at remarkable value. Continuing that philosophy—and benefitting from extensive trickle-down technology refined through thousands of development hours—the new Audiolab D7 arrives as a compact desktop DAC that distills high-end engineering into an affordable, minimalist design.

Compact Yet Powerful

Crafted with Audiolab’s signature design language, the D7 features a rugged aluminium chassis, intuitive controls, and a crisp OLED display. Unlike many rivals in its class, the D7 offers comprehensive menu navigation and remote control, going well beyond basic buttons and LED indicators to deliver a more user-friendly and fully featured experience.

State-of-the-Art Digital Conversion

Inspired by the acclaimed 7000A, the D7 incorporates the high-performance ES9038Q2M Sabre DAC chip, enabling outstanding digital-to-analogue conversion. Whether you're integrating a CD transport, streamer, or computer, the D7 ensures pristine signal delivery and true audiophile quality.

Extensive Connectivity

Versatility is at the heart of the D7. It features four S/PDIF digital inputs—two coaxial and two optical—plus USB-B for computers and smart devices, and USB-A for external flash storage. For output, it provides coaxial, optical, analogue RCA, and fully balanced XLR connections. Bluetooth 5.1 with support for advanced codecs like aptX HD adds seamless wireless convenience.

Hi-Res Audio & Full MQA Decoding

At its core, the ES9038Q2M chip is capable of delivering reference-level performance. Paired with Audiolab’s custom circuitry, the D7 maximises ESS’s HyperStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, ensuring ultra-low noise and an expansive dynamic range.

Hi-res audio is supported in full, with DSD512 and 32-bit/768kHz PCM via USB, and 24-bit/192kHz PCM over coaxial and optical. The D7 is also a full MQA decoder, performing all three unfold stages internally—an uncommon feature at this price point.

Advanced Features, Tailored Performance

Users can engage optional upsampling to 352.8kHz or 384kHz, and choose from five expertly tuned digital filter settings to tailor the sound to their system and source material—ideal for discerning listeners, streamers, or headphone enthusiasts.

Built for Head-Fi, Ready for Hi-Fi

Completing its all-in-one appeal, the D7 includes a high-power headphone amplifier with current-feedback architecture—engineered to drive all headphone types with precision and authority.

Unmatched Value and Versatility

Matching perfectly with the Audiolab 6000 and 7000 series in both style and substance, the D7 combines an elegant brushed aluminium finish with thoughtful ergonomics. It’s a compact powerhouse that redefines expectations for entry-level DACs—offering premium features, connectivity, and performance without compromise.
