PowerLine Plus carries a number of features to lift performance even further. Mains earth has a finite impedance and does behave as an antenna, perfect for capturing RF energy. The PowerLine Plus earth line choke is custom made with a special high permeability core. This gives massive attenuation of any RF noise in the system earth bus and signal ground. The input connector is a rhodium plated IEC by Oyaide. Finally, a single pole shunt filter is fitted. This topology allows direct connection of the live and neutral conductors to the load, providing effective noise attenuation without any impact on peak current delivery.

Thanks to their larger speaker drivers, HiFi subwoofers create a large amount of energy which often runs the risk of exciting the underlying surface of the speaker cabinet.

This physical transfer of energy can have numerous side effects from bass smear and interference with other audio components to cabinet rattle and even neighbour disturbance.

The PowerLine Extreme includes all the conditioning power of the PowerLine Ultra, but with the addition of DC blocking.

The unit has 4 fully conditioned sockets for source components and power supplies and one high current socket for integrated amplifiers or power amps.

Isol-8 have tested the Extreme on a number of systems, including Naim Audio equipment and in all cases found significant improvement in detail, depth and stability of the sound stage and reduction in background noise. At the same time there was no reduction in dynamics and musical timing.
