Crafted to highlight the depth and precision in every record, this limited-edition cartridge builds on Ortofon’s expertise in analog sound reproduction, now enhanced with improved rubber dampers and an eye-catching blue finish. Its stainless-steel structure, forged using cutting-edge Selective Laser Melting (SLM) technology, ensures exceptional rigidity and effective resonance control.

Immerse Yourself In Vinyl

The MC 90X features Ortofon's innovative Wide Range Damping system, Field Stabilising Element, and the advanced Ortofon Replicant 100 diamond stylus. Together, these elements capture the full depth and nuance of even the most intricate vinyl pressings. Each cartridge is hand-assembled with meticulous care and undergoes strict quality control to deliver an authentic, immersive listening experience. With a richly detailed midrange and an extended frequency response, the MC 90X remains true to the original recording, providing a refined, high-fidelity sound that honours the MC A90 legacy.

Wide Range Damping (WRD) System

A standout feature of the MC 90X is the Wide Range Damping (WRD) system, which ensures a smooth, linear frequency response and an extended upper frequency range. This advanced system incorporates a platinum disc positioned between two specially designed rubber absorbers, offering superior tracking and resonance control across the entire frequency spectrum.

Ortofon’s custom-developed rubber compounds further optimise the damping properties, reducing distortion and enhancing sound clarity. These innovations make the MC 90X a top-tier cartridge, delivering exceptional detail, accuracy, and a listening experience that exceeds expectations.

Precisely Engineered For Performance

To achieve perfect linear reproduction across a broad frequency range and ensure precise tracking, the MC 90X utilises the renowned Replicant 100 diamond. Its lightweight, thin profile and large contact surface enable it to trace grooves with unparalleled accuracy. Coupled with a specialised polishing process and a Boron cantilever, this design ensures superior transparency, responsiveness, and speed, resulting in an exceptional, immersive audio experience.

Cutting-edge High-Performance Design

At the core of the MC 90X is Ortofon’s revolutionary Selective Laser Melting (SLM) manufacturing process. This precise technique uses laser-welding of micro-particles to form a solid, one-piece body. This results in enhanced rigidity, reduced unwanted resonances, and an optimal cartridge mass, all contributing to superior sound quality. For flawless signal transmission, the coil wires are made from Ortofon’s exclusive Aucurum alloy, a gold-plated 6NX oxygen-free copper.
