Handcrafted in Japan to uncompromising high-end standards, the Dynavector ASKA serves as the perfect entry point to moving coil (MC) playback. Combining patented magnetic circuit engineering with user-friendly features, it delivers an open, natural, and remarkably low-distortion soundstage that brings vinyl records to life.

Key Features

  • Japanese Handcrafted Precision: Built, heat-treated, assembled, and individually tested in Japan to match Dynavector’s flagship standards.
  • Special Annealed Pure Iron Magnetic Circuit: Enhances magnetic purity for lower distortion, higher resolution, and expansive sound dynamics.
  • Patented Softened Magnet Technology: Combines high-power neodymium magnets with magnetic field softening to eliminate harshness while maintaining exceptional signal separation.

Two Output Options:

  • ASKA-H (High Output, 2.8mV): Plugs directly into standard MM phono inputs without requiring a step-up transformer or head amp.
  • ASKA-L (Low Output, 0.3mV): Delivers classic, uncompromised MC performance for step-up transformer and MC preamp setups.

Elliptical Stylus Profile: Tracks high-frequency detail accurately while remaining forgiving and easy to align across various tonearm setups.

Threaded M2.5 Body: Direct-threaded mounting holes eliminate loose nuts, making cartridge installation straightforward and secure.

For nearly half a century, Dynavector has set the benchmark for analogue innovation, continuously advancing the limits of moving coil design. The Dynavector ASKA brings this legendary heritage to a more accessible level, serving as an ideal gateway for audiophiles stepping into the world of MC cartridges. Designed with the exact same philosophy and precision craftsmanship as Dynavector's top-tier models, the ASKA delivers a spacious three-dimensional soundstage, lifelike presence, and an impeccably balanced tonal character.

Every component of the ASKA is a testament to meticulous engineering. From initial moulding and heat treatment to final assembly and fine-tuning, production is carried out entirely in Japan by master craftsmen. At its heart lies a pure iron magnetic circuit, refined through a tightly controlled annealing process to optimize magnetic flow and eliminate signal distortion. Paired with neodymium magnets and Dynavector’s patented "Softened Magnet" technology, the ASKA tames harsh high-frequency edginess while retaining stunning clarity, instrument separation, and dynamic range.

To suit any hi-fi ecosystem, the ASKA comes in two distinct variants:

  • The ASKA-H leverages Dynavector’s specialized ultra-fine coil winding techniques to produce a robust 2.8mV output, giving vinyl enthusiasts true MC sound quality with the plug-and-play convenience of a traditional MM phono stage.
  • The ASKA-L offers a traditional 0.3mV low output, perfect for extracting the maximum nuance and fidelity when paired with high-performance step-up transformers or dedicated MC preamps.

Finished with a forgiving elliptical stylus that captures delicate groove modulations without hyper-sensitive alignment demands, and featuring integrated M2.5 threaded mounting holes, the Dynavector ASKA removes the guesswork from installation—leaving only pure, engaging analogue music.
